TERROR OF THE CATACOMBS...the curse continues

As you pass through the gates of the Sanctuary of the Dead you have some idea what is in store for you...and you don't like it.  You've been down here in the Catacombs too many times, fighting for your life, fighting for your soul.  

Again you are trapped by your arch rival - NEMESIS - far below the town you are trying to protect, trying to rid of his evil presence.  You have been called upon again to perform feats of magic and courage against the worst living-dead and bio-mechanical monsters Nemesis can assemble.  

Rumor has it that Nemesis has discovered how to use the TIME GATES.  He has  brought back new and bizarre high-tech monsters from the distant future and decaying beasts from the ancient past.  Control of these Time Gates has also given him a very insidious and twisted weapon against you.  At any time Nemesis can teleport you back and forth through time and space itself, to challenge creatures from the very ends of eternity.

 It's up to you to avoid capture, or worse, as you battle your way through the maze of rooms and tunnels leading toward a final showdown with Nemesis.  You must traverse 16 levels of the most foul, evil dripping catacombs ever.  There is no way out except through victory.  

Along the way you will find keys necessary to unlock doors that may lead you to a new level or lead you to your demise.  There is hidden treasure at every turn.  Take all you can.  These treasures are needed to keep you alive and provide you with magic weapons to give you a fighting chance against overpowering odds.

You can only imagine what new sights, experiences and threats await you as you venture from one hideous encounter to the next.  Nemesis has brought together an army of viscous creatures bent on your destruction and by the grace of all that is good, you shall prevail.

The Towne of Morbidity - a short history.

Long before Nemesis forcibly gained control, the town was called Tranquillity a quaint little village nestled in the foothills of the sacred Tornado mountains.  The special magic spirits of early settlers watched over Tranquillity and kept it safe from anyone who dared disrupt this peaceful and serene community.

No one knew, that far below in the dark and damp catacombs, evil beings were assembled by the maniacal proclivity of Nemesis.  All his thoughts and energy were directed solely at taking over the world...starting with Tranquillity.  Time had no meaning.  Centuries passed as his army of unusual and unearthly creatures grew in size and number.  They waited there in the cold,  foul catacombs...waited for the signal that would free them and grant them their just reward...the town and its inhabitants.

Late one dark and eerie night, Nemesis gave the signal and his hordes of ghouls were able to overwhelm the residents of Tranquillity.  Even the sacred spirits who protected the town were no match for the awesome power of Nemesis.  

Nemesis quickly shrouded Tranquillity in darkness and renamed it Morbidity.  The conquest was easy and complete.  Innocent townspeople were randomly tortured and killed without reason or provocation.  Families were torn apart as the town's youth were enslaved to fill any desire of Nemesis.  All hope was lost.  Resistance was futile.

Until YOU arrived.  Armed with your wondrous magic and ages of sacred spirits behind you, you were able to defeat, though not destroy, Nemesis and return the Towne of Tranquillity to peace.  

Now Nemesis has again taken control of the town and dwells in the deepest regions of the Catacombs.  The previous encounters with you has taught him well.  Believe in your heart, he will not surrender or retreat this time.
