RUNNING CHILL MANOR UNDER WINDOWS 95:

Chill Manor is a game created for the DOS operating system.
However, you can play Chill Manor in Windows 95 through the DOS
     prompt.

The minimum recommended RAM for Chill Manor on a Windows 95
     system is 16Mb.

     Installation:
On some Win95 machines there may be difficulty in detecting your
sound card during installation of Chill Manor. The following
step-by-step instructions should help in setting up the
     appropriate sound drivers:

     1. Copy the CHILL.INI file from your Chill Manor CD-ROM to your
Chill directory on your hard drive.
     2. Go to Control Panel/System/Device Manager. Here you must
note the sound card name, address, irq and dma numbers.
     3. Locate the appropriate driver files in the AIL directory of
your Chill Manor CD-ROM for midi and digital audio. Using
the DOS editor or Windows Notepad edit the MDI.INI and DIG.INI
using the information about your machine's sound card name,
address, irq and dma numbers. Under Driver, you must type in
the full path to the CD-ROM. For example:
               Driver D:\AIL\name of your driver
(D:\ would be your CD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM is a drive
letter other than D:\, substitute the appropriate letter for
         D:\)
     4. Once the MIDI.INI and DIG.INI files have been edited, save
them to your Chill directory on your hard drive.

     Running Chill Manor:

On some Win95 machines Chill will work fine by just using the
normal CHILL.BAT file that is created by the installation. On
other Win95 machines you will have to do some extra work:

     1. Install the program normally.
     2. Open Explorer. Go to your CD-ROM drive and find the file
         CHILL.EXE (in the CHILL folder).
     3. Drag the file to your desktop. A shortcut to CHILL.EXE should
         appear.
     4. Right click on the shortcut and select Properties.
     5. Click on the Program tab. In the field labeled "Working:"
change the directory to C:\CHILL (or the name of the directory
         where you installed the program.)
     6. Click on the Memory tab. In the field labeled "Extended (XMS)
Memory" change the selection to "10240". Make sure the box
labeled "Uses HMA" is checked. In the field labeled "MS-DOS
protected mode (DPMI) memory" change the selection to "10240".
     7. Click the Apply button, and close the dialogue box. You should
now be able to run Chill Manor from this shortcut.
