
The Crusader III was like the Crusaders I and II in that it was faster and
better armored than its predecessors. The biggest improvement was the 6lb anti-tank gun. This allowed the new Crusader to deal with newer German tanks like Pz-IIIg's. The Crusaders were the most often used tanks in 
Allied desert battles prior to the arrival of Sherman tanks. This tank was 
pulled out of service by mid 1943.
