
Based on the same vehicle as the U.S. M10 Wolverine, the Achilles had a 17lb gun in place of the 3-inch gun, giving it better range and better
penetration when confronting enemy tanks. It served from June, 1944, to May,
1945.  The tank was an open top turreted tank and left the crew exposed to
HE fire. The tank had below average armor and was not designed to take other
tanks head on.
