
The Char-Canon FT18 was one of many French light tanks which was made in
1918 for World War I, and still existed in 1940. Many were confiscated when
Germany invaded France and then used to patrol conquered territory.
The FT-18 was the first tank in the world to use a steel 360-degree traverse
turret, and despite its weak armor, was able mount with a 37mm gun.
