
The Tiger tank was the most advanced tank used by the German Army.
Officially designated the PzKw (Panzerkampfwagen) VI, the 55-ton tank was
rushed into service in 1943 to counter the Soviet T-34 tank. The Tiger was
armed with an 88-mm cannon, making it a deadly anti-tank weapon. The
Tiger remained in production through August, 1944. Combined with its heavy
armor and 88mm gun, the Tiger was one of the feared German tank in the
war.
