NIJMEGEN September 17th, 1944 -

In the middle of September 1944, the Allies invoked a daring plan to seize
a series of bridges over the waterways of Holland. The hope was that the
1st Airborne Army would capture these bridges and then the British 30th
Corps could drive across the Rhine and into the Rhur valley. One of the key
bridges, was the bridge at Nijmegen. It was up to the 82nd Airborne Division
to capture the bridge. This scenario examines the night attack mounted by the
508th Airborne Regiment to take the bridge by storm.
