MS-DOS MEMORY PROBLEMS

For MS-DOS, this product requires 400K of
conventional memory and 7,100K of extended
memory (XMS) to run with full graphics and
audio capability. If you have between 7,000K
and 7,100K of XMS the game will still run
but will automatically reduce the audio
quality. Use the "MEM /C /P" command to
check the amount of available memory on
your system. Please refer to the reference
card for more information on how to free up
memory on your system.

WINDOWS95 MEMORY PROBLEMS

THE NEED FOR SPEED(TM) SPECIAL EDITION
requires 12MB of physical memory, and also
requires that virtual memory be enabled (this
can be enabled using "System" control
panel); we advise that you permit Windows95
to manage the amount of virtual memory
automatically, and that you have at least
20MB of free hard drive space available after
installation of the game.

While unadvised, if you have virtual memory
disabled, you will need additional physical
memory in your machine to compensate. If you
have MS-DOS installed on your system, you
may desire to instead install the MS-DOS
executable of THE NEED FOR SPEED(TM)
SPECIAL EDITION and play it (MS-DOS
requires less system memory than
Windows95).
