 CHECKSYS VGA Return Information:
 --------------------------------

   * Indicates lack of extended resolution 256 color modes.
(which means Super VGA games will not work with these cards)

   # Indicates VESA BIOS Extensions in ROM (usually).
(these cards do not require a VESA driver to be loaded)

    Oddities and known bugs
    -----------------------

Diamond SpeedStar: This card has a VESA driver in ROM, but you have to run
the program 'DIAMOND.COM' to enable it.

The ATI v1.1 driver seems to have a crash bug.

The AMI BIOS for the S3 86C911 and the PhoenixView BIOS for the
GD5410 (AVGA2) have minor problems with Super VGA.

Ahead VGA Wizard 5.0 VESA driver doesn't work.

All information contained herein is correct to the best of our knowledge.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

By way of explanation, the detection routines contained within CHECKSYS
were designed to detect VESA capability. Thus many chipsets with limited
extended capability are not represented, and others are identified only
by manufacturer (namely ATI and Paradise) where it would be inconvenient
to distinguish between levels. Others are not identified because we
were unable to obtain documentation and/or hardware samples for testing.

Note to Manufacturers and Others Who Know More Than We Do:

Please feel obligated to send any information that might be of value to
us in our quest to identify the world of VGA and other graphics hardware.
Manufacturers: If you are not represented, and you wish to be, please
help us rectify the situation! We may not be perfect, but we try. And
    with your help, who knows?
